Sylvia Doris Foley passed away peacefully with family by her side at Belvedere Heights on Friday, August 19th, 2022. Age 89 years.

Beloved wife of the late Bud Foley. Loving mother of Allan and his wife Nicole; Steven and his wife Laura; and Lianne and her husband Tom Piddington.

Dear grandma of Victoria (Chad), T.J. (Jeannette), Christopher (Brooke), Joshua (Anjan), Emilee (Kody), Isaac, Benjamin, Samantha (Stephen), Abbey, Zach (Brittany), Jacob, Max, and Simon. Great grandma of Gwenyth, Draya, Lia, Thomas, Anna, Emmett, Zoe, Layla, Lachlan, Andre and Olivia. Dear sister-in-law of Betty Sale (nee Foley). Fondly remembered by niece Tracy, nephews Scott and Rob (Tania), great nephew Ryan and her other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Mass for family and close friends to be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, August 25th at 1:00 P.M.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society Muskoka would be appreciated.

I remember meeting Sylvia for the first time when we came to visit Huckleberry island many many years ago. i thought she was a beautiful energetic woman with snapping blue eyes. (Still rocking a bikini) She loved her family so. Cherish your memories (I know you have lots)

So sad to hear about Sylvia's passing. Marlyn & I have known you all forever. We both used to babysit you guys on Highland! Your mom had an amazing sense of humour but when she and dad got together; hold onto your sides because they would be splitting. She was one amazing lady!

My sincere sympathy to her family. I knew Bud & Sylvia when I lived in Nobel. I often saw her when I would visit Parry Sound, and we kept in touch by e-mail on the odd occasion. She was a wonderful person.

So sad to read this. I grew up down the street on Highland. Never realized she was your Mom. She was a wonderful, friendly lady. So many former associates are leaving us. She will be remembered.🙏🙏🙏

I still think fondly of our wonderful 25 year neighbourly friendship every time I look out our back kitchen window at "Sylvia's house".
Amongst other reciprocal help, I could always count on Sylvia to let "Scottie" out into the back yard, if I was delayed at work. And she subsequently gamely agreed to let our newly adopted 2 year old Black Lab "Lucy" out. I can still hear Sylvia's voice recounting Lucy's antics: of Lucy running from Sylvia and cowering under a bed while Sylvia tried to coax her outside. Sylvia patiently persisted and went back to the house several times that evening before she successfully coaxed Lucy outside. Eventually, of course, over the years, Lucy would happily greet Sylvia at the back door!

We welcomed her visits to Calgary to be able to share time with her. She always brought laughter and good thoughts with her. She will be missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her, especially her family who treasured with all her heart.

So sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing but she will be happy with her Budd now.
Did not know her in her younger years but we became good friends and spent five winters together in Mexico and have so many good memories.
