Beloved friend I’ll miss you terribly. Every time I came up to the Orange Valley & came over the hill looking down on your farm I felt as if I was coming home. You made it feel that way. I will forever be thankful for all the memories you & Eileen gave me. The conversations, the jokes with each other, the winter afternoons talking about world affairs, dinners, building my cabin, Dave’s wedding, your Sister Ruby, sharing life stories & so much more. It meant so very much to me & will stay with me forever. Love you Rod.

My Condolences to the Family. Rod was such a kind man. Always welcoming and interested in what was happening in your life. My favorite memory will always be playing scrabble with him. A true scrabble Legend, who never made you feel less with your 3 letter words. I can hear him saying as he pulled out the wooden Letters from the purple bag "On no bad letters, bad letters". I am honored to have gotten to know him.

To Candy and all the Pletzer family. Sorry to hear about Uncle Rod. Was so good to have a visit with him and three of my cousins last summer. Uncle Rod was the only one my Uncles I can remember playing the guitar and singing Cowboy Songs. Was so impressed as a young teen. Sorry we can’t be there to see him off. Love to all.

What a loss and void he will leave in the lives of all of us. For the very short time I was Rod and Eileen's neighbour, I was charmed by his wit, smile, humour, knowledge and insight. I will have happy memories of him sitting at the oven waiting for cookies to bake, looking over the fence and admiring my garden, wonderful conversations and stories. Rod, you made such an impact on so many.

On behalf of the Northern Ontario Wark family, our deepest condolences to the Pletzer family. My first wife, Winnifred (nee Wark, deceased) was Rod's cousin. Winnifred's mother ,"Minnie" (nee Pletzer), was Rod's aunt.
Minnie and Lawrence Wark never forgot their roots in the Orange Valley, and spent many Springs with Rod, making maple syrup. Rod has left a lasting legacy and heritage for those left behind.

Uncle Pletzer. Sunday school & falling asleep on your couch on New Years. I will never forget being surrounded by your cows. I will miss stopping in to have a laugh at my dad's expense & will continue to give the homestead a double honk when we arrive & leave the valley. Always in my heart.

Our family spends summer holidays visiting grandma and grandpa and uncle Rod’s family. Uncle Rod was always up for fun. With only a facial expression he could get us kids giggling, especially at inappropriate times. In recent years I’ve appreciated how he regularly called his little sister. My mom cherished their every conversation. Brent Whittal
