NANCY LITTLE

Nancy Little passed away peacefully at home with her sisters and dear friends at her side on Thursday May 2 2013.

Nancy was the beloved life partner of the late Doug Maconachie; devoted sister to Anne and Martha Little; loving and proud aunt of Evelyn and Colin Playle and supportive step-mother of Peter and Tracey Maconachie.

Nancy was active in the community. For many years she was president of the Parry Sound Singers. She served on the board of the Festival of the Sound and was an integral member of the Parry Sound Curling Club. Nancy lived a rich life full of wide and varied activities. She travelled extensively with Doug sailing to Florida and the Bahamas from Parry Sound. One of Nancyís many pastimes was creating intricate quilts and clothing. In the last few years Nancy brought her crafting experience to the fore running her custom framing business Artistic Endeavours.

Nancy grew up in Winnipeg and received her Bachelor of Arts from McGill University. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Library Science from the University of Alberta. Nancy worked at the University of Manitoba was the Chief Librarian of the Canadian Wheat Board Library and finished her library career at UTLAS in Toronto before heading off on her sailing adventures.

Friends will be received on Sunday May 5th between the hours of 12:30 - 1:30 P.M. at the Charles W. Stockey Centre Parry Sound followed by a service at 1:30 P.M. Reception to follow.

In Nancyís memory in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the West Parry Sound Health Centre and to Hospice West Parry Sound.
