Michael McEvoy Smart passed away peacefully, at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Tuesday, August 16th, 2022. Age 85 years.

Beloved husband of Roberta Smart for 49 years. Loving father of Robert Michael (Novar), and Elizabeth Constance and her husband Ryan Peyton (Edmonton). Sadly missed by his friend Ted Rason.

Cremation to take place.

As was Michael’s wish, there will be no formal service.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

I will remember Mike as being a teacher who was interested in each one of his students and who enjoyed teaching them.

Roberta your husband was so sweet an kind. I had the honor of taking care of Mike. I gotta say Mike u stuck it out until the end. May your beautiful soul rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to the Smart family. Mr. Smart was my third grade teacher many many many years ago and he was one of my favorite teachers and one that had a positive impact on my time at Humphrey School.

Mike will be forever remembered. Such an amazing man. I am honoured to have been one of his many amazing caregivers over the past few years. He was a breath of fresh air. ❤️

To the Smart family, Mr. Smart was the coolest teacher, for me grade 5, he had
a really funny sense of humour, he will be missed.

I remember Mike as a grade school teacher who loved it when kids understood his lessons and asked for more. As the years grew on, his teachings helped in everyday living. We caught up again while at Serenity Seniors Residence. Friendly happy chit chats and hot drinks with smartie snacks. His infectious laugh, eye twinkle and movie night brought happiness to all who were nearby. See you on the other side, my friend, I will bring more smarties...

Our heartfelt condolences Roberta, Robbie and Connie. Mike was part of our team at Wasauksing Kinomaugewgamik. He was such a kind and gentle spirit and helped many of our children. They adored him.

Roberta and family; Michael was a familiar presence in Orrville when he came to the Seguin area. He was a special teacher, with patience, caring and a sense of professionalism.
His quiet, calm demeanour and smile will be missed.
