MARILYN CRAWFORD

On February 27, 2024 Marilyn Lorna Crawford (nee Grainger) passed away peacefully at Belvedere Heights, in her 80th year with her family by her bedside.

She was the faithful and loving wife to Grant Crawford. They shared 59 years of marriage together (married on June 20th, 1964).

Born on April 16, 1944 in Elgin Mills, Richmond Hill. She lived there until she moved to Scotland, Ontario in 1967 with her husband and daughter. In February 1970 they moved to McKellar, Ontario and the next February of 1971, during a winter storm, came along a baby boy to complete the family.

Marilyn’s faith in God was unwavering from a child and for the remainder of her life. She shared a hope for the future with countless others based on God’s word the Bible.

Unconditionally she loved her family and cared for others without fanfare or anything in return. Marilyn just felt the need to show love, help or support in any way she could.

Marilyn’s best friend, and sister-in-law Judy, of 61 years brought great joy throughout her life. They played serious scrabble games, shopped for great bargains, lots of laughing and shared in the ministry throughout the community and surrounding areas.

Marilyn’s immediate family consisted of her devoted, faithful and loving husband, Grant, who rarely missed a day visiting and caring for her at Belvedere Heights over the past 5 years, daughter Belinda (Ralph) and son Rob (Liz). She adored her grandchildren, Noah and Avra (Jet) and soaked up the presence of her great grandchild, Reuben.

Marilyn is survived by her brother, Robert Grainger (who she held a special place in her heart for right to the end). Predeceased by her father, Joseph Lorne Grainger (August 31, 2004) and mother, Lillian Viola Scott (March 6, 2021). Her loving memory will be kept by John Scott, her aunts, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces and many dear friends.

As with Marilyn’s choice, cremation has taken place.

Marilyn’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Dr. David Clarke and the staff at Belvedere Heights for their excellent care and compassion.

As an expression of sympathy donations to Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged, Parry Sound, or a donation to donation.jw.org would be greatly appreciated.

Funeral will be held on April 6, 2024 @ 2pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 103 Smith Cresent, McDougall, Ontario. After the service there will be a hot meal served at the Carling recreation center to share memories of Marilyn’s life with family and friends.
