Lillian Ruth “Babe” Oates (nee Marshall) passed away peacefully on Friday, January 22nd, 2016 in her 89th year at Fairvern Nursing Home in Huntsville.
She was predeceased by her husband Fred, her daughter Barb, and son Jim. Babe will be dearly missed by her son Ken (Louise Parrott), daughter-in-law Sheila Ramshaw (Phil), grandchildren Shawn (Liza), Tim (Lucy), Kerrie (Tom), and Philip, and great-grandchildren Jaden, Lilia, Philip, and Lauren. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, other family, and friends.
Babe was born in Wilberforce Ontario on July 24th, 1926 to Tom and Flora Marshall (nee Webber). She was predeceased by her sisters Ethel, Orma, Neoma, Helen and brothers Lorne, Bob, Tom, and Casey.
Fred and Babe raised their children in Toronto and at the cottage on Horseshoe Lake. They later retired to Rosseau where many happy family memories were made over the years.
A Celebration of Babe's Life will be held at the Rosseau Community Centre on Saturday, February 6th at 2:00 P.M.
