KRIS SMITH

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kris on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023, a cherished father, son, and friend to many. Kris was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew him, and his loss is deeply felt. He leaves behind his beloved high school sweetheart Kayle and their three adoring sons, Grayden, Easton, and Hadley. Kris was the son of Debra Smith (Colin) and the late Peter Smith, and brother to the late Scott Smith (Amanda) and their daughters Paige, Abigail and Emma. He will always be remembered with love and affection by his family, Kayle’s family and his many friends.

Kris had a passion for life, family and friends. He had a love of knowledge and a flair for fashion. He could debate any topic, win any trivia game and give a commentary on any subject. He thrived on his talent for creativity and design. His kind, giving soul not only extended to all those around him but also to animals. He will be deeply missed by his beloved dog Bruno, who waits patiently by the door for his return.

Kris was the first to watch any new documentary and download the newest movies as he loved “movie nights” with his boys. Kris had many talents and took great pride in his skills as an avid “photo bomber”, juggler, playing hockey like a pro and maneuvering a skateboard with no effort. He would challenge anyone to his favourite game of Ping-Pong. He took every opportunity to be on the bay in his boat because that was how he “rolled”.

Kris loved his boys with all his heart and soul and was so proud of the men they are growing into. He never missed a Christmas concert, graduation or sports event and just newly acquired a passion for homework. The boys will forever cherish their memories of their many adventures, family vacations and their time spent together.

As we grieve this tremendous loss, we take comfort in the memories of Kris and the love he shared with those around him. His impact was immeasurable, and his legacy will live on. We are grateful to the many friends and members of our community who have offered their support and solace during this difficult time. In the words of a beloved song, "My love for you... It's wider than the widest sea, longer than a memory, sweeter than a honey tree." Kris will forever be in our hearts and we will always be watching for the moon and stars.

We love you Kris!

Friends are invited to share memories of Kris at the Parry Sound Legion, 30 Mary Street, on Friday, May 5th, from 12:00 – 4:00 P.M. A Service and eulogies will take place at 12:30 P.M.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to assist the family, or for an education fund for the boys would be appreciated (e-transfer to [email protected]). Donations to Cottage Paws Rescue (e-transfer to [email protected]), or Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary would be also appreciated.
