JOSHUA COCHRANE-ABAR

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joshua Joseph Cochrane-Abar announce his sudden passing at home on Monday, October 16th, 2023, at the age of 29.

Adored father of William and Charlotte, (the children’s mother and Joshua’s friend Courtney Kruse). Beloved son of Ronald Abar and Ginger Cochrane. Cherished brother of Cole Cochrane-Abar (Juli Wilson) and loving uncle to Freya and Solomon who never had the chance to meet him in person but loved him dearly. Loving grandson of Gloria Abar (the late Frank Abar), and Patricia Tait (Dawson Emerson). Fondly remembered by his Aunts Laurie McRobert (Rene), Kathy Mazak, and Tennille Baskey, and by his Uncles Allan and Pete Cochrane, and by his many relatives and friends.

Joshua’s greatest joy in life was his children; he lit up when with them or speaking about them – they were his pride and joy. Joshua loved everything outdoors and fixing anything with a motor. As often seen by photos of Joshua, his love of fishing was evident. His love of nature and camping often brought him out to the woods where he would thrive. His smile would light up the room; anywhere he went he made friends with his outgoing nature. Joshua was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need; he was a gentle soul with a heart of gold.

Family and friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home (705-746-5855), 81 James St., Parry Sound on Saturday, October 28th, between the hours of 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to an education fund set up for his children William and Charlotte would be appreciated.

Sending my condolences to the Family and especially to Gloria Abar who has always been so sweet and kind to me when ever I stopped over for a coffee and visit and to catch up on the young and the restless. I remember meeting the two boys when they were little at Gloria and Franks home. May your Grandson rest in Peace Gloria , Many rooms many mansions have been the promise as you well know. ~ Wendy Oickle , Ma Stringers Grandaughter.

I am so saddened to hear about Josh's passing. I met Josh when I was on the streets and he was kind enough to let me stay the night, have a shower and fed me. We had always kept in touch even after I got my life together. He will always have a special place in my heart. He was there for me at my lowest and taught me that good people do exist. Prayers for your family.

I just learned of Josh passing as I had moved. I am so saddened by this loss of a great soul. he spent a lot of time visiting at my neighbours house in Calgary is how we met. I am a senior and whenever Josh saw me working in my yard and needing help he would always offer and help me. I have great respect for this jewel of a man. this death wasn't meant for him. it was not his character . we had a lot of humorous times hanging out . He was a brave character to say the least even with a set of dog fangs looking at him my heart goes out to all that cared for Josh and loved him, his family , his children and the neighbourhood of applewood. love you dear friend Josh. gone way too soon.
