John Hans Juergen Koslowski passed away peacefully, on his way to help one of his dear friends, on Saturday, January 2nd, 2016. Age 75 years.

Born in Kiehlendorf, Germany and moved to Canada at age of 14.

Beloved husband of Renate for 35 years. Loving Dad of Shawn, Christopher, Michael, Brian, Gloria, and Gordon, and his six grandchildren. Dear brother of Claude.

John graduated (’68) from Mohawk College’s Mechanical Technology program. He went on to serve a lengthy and fulfilling career of over 30 years at Stelco (Hamilton / Nanticoke) where he roamed the halls as “Big John”.

John will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a man dedicated to his family and loving wife, a talented gardener, baker (especially yeast doughs), winemaker, and brewmaster. May he be at peace watching the loons and chasing away the geese on the shores of Portage Lake.

Family and friends are invited to Grand Tappattoo Resort (Reception room) between the hours of 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 9th, 2016, in honour of John’s life. Remarks will be made at 3:00 P.M. Please call 705-378-2210 for directions and information.
