JOE ZUBER
Joseph Frederick Joe Zuber peacefully left us on June 24 2009 in his 100th year. He was one month away from reaching his 100th birthday. He admitted that he was weary and ready to join his lifelong soul mate Mary (Gilchrist) who predeceased him in 2004.
Joe will be missed by his immediate family Jolyn Brethour and Ted (Edna) Zuber four grandchildren Janice (Peter) T.J.(Claire) Rob (Dana) Ted (Jen) and five great grandchildren Alysis Gavin Zhana Declan and Rowan.
Joe is survived by two sisters Gwen and Dolly. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces nephews other relatives and friends.
Joe started with The Bank of Toronto when he was 15 and retired from the TD Bank after 45 years of service. Apart from work his grandchildren and great grandchildren were a large part of his life. Gardening golf and curling kept him active. His passion throughout his life was music and singing. He started in his youth with school and Church choirs and later acted in Vaudeville shows and sang with a neighbour who was a professional piano player. Since making Belvedere Heights his home he outperformed everyone at the weekly sing-a-longs. His humour and enthusiasm will be missed.
Joe wished to be cremated and his ashes will be interred at Maryís side in the Hillcrest Cemetery at a private family service.
Many thanks to the staff and volunteers at Belvedere Heights for their kindness compassion and support to Joe and his family. Donations to Belvedere Heights in remembrance of Joe would be appreciated by the family.
