James Ernest Carruthers (CN Conductor - retired in 1991) passed away peacefully at Belvedere Heights, on Wednesday, September 28th, 2016. Age 85 years.

Beloved husband of Mary (Haslehurst) Carruthers for 51 years. Loving father of Sandra Doherty (Dave); Kevin Carruthers (Robyn Heatherington); and Joanne Kempton (Tim). Loving Grandpa of Michael Doherty (Megan McEwen), Tyler Doherty, Justin Carruthers, Zachary Kempton, and Zoe Kempton. Great Grandpa of Mason Carruthers. Loving son of the late James and Frances (Beaumont) Carruthers. Dear brother of Gail Jacklin (John). Brother in law of Don Haslehurst (Colleen); Joan MacLean (Bruce); Jackie Sayer (John); and the late Royce Haslehurst (Alberta, of McDougall); and Ted Haslehurst (Mary, of Vancouver Island). Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Luncheon and a Celebration of Jim's Life to take place at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #117 on Sunday, October 30th, 2016 between the hours of 1:00 - 3:00 P.M.

A family graveside service will take place at Sylvan Acres Cemetery at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Belvedere Heights, or the West Parry Sound Health Centre (Palliative Care) would be appreciated by the family.
