JEFF ARNOLD

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Jeffrey Kerr Arnold, 73, announce his sudden passing at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Saturday May 25th, 2024.

Beloved husband and best friend to Donna for 46 years. Devoted father to Tyler, Delaina (Jim), Carman (Steve), and Conrad. Little Maeve had just learned to call him ‘Granddad’. Son of the late Judson Arnold and survived by his mother Emily (Grisdale). Brother of Roderick (Shelly), Harvey, and the late Ken (survived by his wife Sonja). Jeff is fondly remembered by many family members and dear friends.

Jeff grew up on the shores of Georgian Bay, along the Moon River, but most of his life was spent at the family home he and Donna built in Orrville. His professional life followed his interest and talents; from logging and sawmilling, driving big rigs state-side and Sudbury bound with the CB handle Underdog, land surveying, running a welding shop, and all manner of building trades. His last decades were dedicated to the family businesses of wholesale ice and masonry work.

Jeff had a quiet but deep love for the natural world, and an incredible internal compass walking in the woods. He could name just about any song and music artist from the 60’s and 70’s. A cherished euchre partner, he claimed to be unlucky at cards because he was lucky at love. Strong, curious, passionate, funny, a storyteller, a mentor to many, and generous beyond measure, you are forever in our hearts and minds. We miss you and love you so much.

Please honour Jeff’s memory by showing your kids fireflies in the summer, whistle or hum classic tunes even if no one is listening, or think of him when you see a sundog.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Orrville Community Centre (1207 Hwy 518) on Sunday, October 6th, from 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

Our condolences to Donna and Jeff's family and close friends.
Jeff raised our cottage at 109 Star Lake Woods Road. It was amazing to watch. We enjoyed the efforts of his work along with talking to him about life in general and the area he loved! He will be part of our cottage forever, along with many others on the lake!

-Sharon and Glen Antonucc

Jeff raised our cottage in Star Lake. We had numerous opportunities to chat. He had a great sense of humour, was a tireless worker, strong as an ox and no one was more honest.
Condolences to Donna and family.
