HILDA WHITE

Hilda passed away peacefully, at Belvedere Heights, Parry Sound, on Friday, January 9th, 2015, at the age of 87.

Born Hilda Elaine MacLean in Hampshire, P.E.I., she became a school teacher, who was married to the love of her life, Roy White, for 55 years (sadly Roy passed away in 2002). She was a devoted member of the United Church and was very involved with the U.C.W. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, music and especially treasured times spent with those dearest to her: her family and friends. She was a loving, hard working, and determined women who always kept hope alive. She inspired her students and children to do the same by regularly quoting one of her favourite poems:
“Good, better, best.
Never let it rest.
Until the good is better and the better best!”

Loving mother of Richard and his wife Candice of Kelowna, B.C.; Elaine and her husband Stuart Dolbel of Kelowna, B.C.; Laura White of Parry Sound; and Rena and her husband Peter Tallis of Toronto. Loving grandmother of Stephen, Tamara, Scott, Grace, and MacLean. Great grandmother of Weston and Arrow. Dear sister of Rena Lees and her husband Tom of Marathon, Ontario; Jean Thompson and her husband Layton of Whitshire, P.E.I.; and the late Ira, and Fred MacLean.

At Hilda’s request cremation has taken place.

A Service of Remembrance will take place at the Logan Funeral Home, 81 James Street, Parry Sound (705-746-5855) on Friday, January 16th, at 11:00 A.M. Reception to follow. Visiting prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.
