GORD SEARS

With saddened hearts we announce the passing of Gord Sears, in his 96th year. Gord passed away peacefully with family by his side at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Tuesday October 24, 2023.

Gord will be dearly missed by his wife and best friend, Ellen of 70 years. Loving daughters Karen (Gerry) and Laura (Dave). Proud and cherished Papa to Nicole and Matt (Rachel).

Greatly missed brother of Shirley, Linda (Harry), and the late Lorraine (Stez), and Ken. Dear brother-in-law of Muriel, and the late Bob.

He will be missed by his nieces, nephews and his large extended family and friends. His grand fur babies Toni, George, Sky, and Sophie will miss his gentle hand, loving heart and his endless supply of treats.

His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and reminiscing of times gone by.

He was a great storyteller and we enjoyed listening to his many tales. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, golfing, and watching his favourite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Our family would like to thank the many caregivers from “The Friends” for their compassion and care. And thank you to the staff at the West Parry Sound Health Centre.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to MS Canada, the West Parry Sound Health Centre, or a charity of your choice would be most appreciated.

Sad to hear but l remember happy times with Gord at the cottage. Hunting fishing swimming. He was just like another big kid with me and Greg. I remember swimming under water flashlights at night with him when we accidently drop light in lake and it stayed on. He jumped in and joined us laughing. Always happy and could tell a good joke along with his yodalling abilities after a few drinks. I have thought of him often and will continue doing. And a shout-out to Ellen my condolences he will be missed but you hang in there kid. Special memories of special people.
