DOUG “BAKER” BROWN
Douglas Michael Brown (retired A & P Produce Manager) passed away at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, on Monday, December 11th, 2023. Age 74 years.
Loving father of Tracey (Dan) Sorenson. Cherished Grandpa of Cameron. Dear brother of Chuck (Linda); Terry (Brenda); Bill; Marjorie (Paul); Vivian; Gary; Lincoln; and the late Raymond (wife Pauline); Donald, and Harold ‘Bing’ (late wife Joyce). Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Doug went by many names. Most famously Baker, but by the kids who visited the A&P he was known as the Banana Man. He loved boating on Georgian Bay and fishing with his family. He loved fast horses and cars, and always knew when to hold them and when to fold them. He was quick-witted, and always ready with a joke. He would laugh so hard at his own jokes it made them all the funnier. He had many loves in his life but none more so than his grandson Cameron. He was a force of nature and his magnanimous personality will be forever remembered by those he loved.
As was Doug’s wish, cremation has taken place. A private family service will take place at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

-Rolland CascsnetteNeil and I offer our sincere condolences to all of the Brown family. Although we suspected that Baker was failing, we are still somehow shocked at his passing. Baker docked at Holiday Cove for many years and always had Neil in stitches. You have no idea how much you will be missed, Doug.
-Neil and LouiseI can't imagine that a day went by without humor and humility in the life of this great man. I had many laughs with him, some at my own expense, and that's what friends are for. I was fortunate enough to have a great one.
