DOROTHY FLORENCE OSMASTON

Osmaston Dorothy Florence (Dobbie) born October 16 1917 the thirtieth generation of her line born on English soil. Died April 12 2008 in Parry Sound after a long creative and generous life. Her family home was Lowfold Wisborough Green Sussex. Graduate of St Paulís School and the Paris Academy of Dress Design. After war service as a volunteer ambulance driver she married Captain James Patrick King-Wilson. She raised her own family in Parry Sound and Sussex and then three more children of family members in England and two in Australia. Beloved mother of Marianne King-Wilson (Dr Roger Gould) of Parry Sound Pamela King-Wilson of Coquitlam BC Susan King-Wilson (Charles Vigneault) Port Coquitlam BC and James King-Wilson (Karen Clarke) of Sussex England. Loving grandmother of James OíToole (Kylie) in Australia Robert OíToole (Tina) in BC; and Stephen and Peter Vigneault in BC. Fond great-grandmother of Jade Brooke and Raiden OíToole in BC. Dear sister of Arthur Stephen Osmaston of Lowfold and Robert Shirley Osmaston (Margaret) of Sussex and sister-in-law of Peter Underwood of Ipswich. Sister of the late Ronald Osmaston and Pamela Underwood.
Loving aunt to Cate Osmaston Tom Osmaston (Carol) Ben Osmaston (Yonit); and seven more nieces and nephews and their families in England France and New Zealand. Fondly remembered by Norma King-Wilson and John King-Wilson. Dobbieís gardens have created beautiful havens for family friends and wildlife on three continents. All creatures great and small were drawn to her. Above all she placed the needs of others first. She was a gourmet cook. Music filled all her homes. She rode horses built ponds renovated most of her houses made wedding dresses for hundreds of brides crossed Canada fifty times by train and bus and flew in planes from her fatherís Gipsy Moth to Concorde plus a hot air balloon at age 89. Her UK driverís licence authorized her to drive every class of vehicle except tanks.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Logan Memorial Chapel 81 James Street Parry Sound 746-5855 on Friday April 18 at 2 PM. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service. If desired donations to the Ontario Respiratory Care Society (Specify Pulmonary Fibrosis Research) 573 King St. E. Ste 201Toronto M5A 4L3; or The West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation or Hospice West Parry Sound or the Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary will be appreciated.
