Donna Marie Beagan (Cowden) passed away at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, in the early hours of Sunday, April 9th, 2023. Age 76 years.

Beloved wife of Roger Beagan for 56 years. Loving mother of Kirk and his wife Shannon. Cherished Nana of Brennan and Brogan. Loving daughter of the late Don and Faye Cowden. Dear sister of Gary Cowden and the late Suzanne. Dear sister-in-law of Dolly Horne, Barb Johnston, Lorna Tuck (David), Catherine Decicco (Mario), and Marion Thorkilsen. Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Also remembered by Suzanne Pausner, Marianne Renwick, Dianne Fraser, Margaret Cope, and her many friends.

A Celebration of Donna’s Life will take place in the Logan Memorial Chapel, 81 James Street, Parry Sound (705-746-5855), on Thursday, April 20th at 2:00 P.M, with visitation prior from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Reception to follow.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, the West Parry Sound Health Centre, or the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre would be appreciated.

My sincere condolences to Roger and the family on Donna's passing.

Donna was my very first teacher Kindergarten Victory School. She is and always be very fondly remembered. Deepest condolences.

I am so sorry to read this post and wish to offer my deepest sympathies to Roger, Kirk and family. I worked with Donna a number of years in 2 different schools and always found her to be such a pleasant and interesting colleague. I know she will be missed by you, her family and her many friends and acquaintances. May God give you His comfort during this very sad time in your lives.

My sincere condolences. I remember Mrs. Beagan from years ago at Victory School. She was my grade one teacher. Lovely lady. Then we reconnected again when I taught Kirk to swim at Bell Lake and Jolly Roger. I also babysat Kirk so many years ago. My condolences to you all. She was a lovely person, always so friendly and kind.

It is with heavy heart that I learn of Mrs. Beagan's passing. I remember Mrs. Beagan very well, she was my kindergarten teacher at Victory school and our families were close even before that as memory serves. I remember after golf tournaments dinners at your house, or just a casual conversation at the golf course or curling rink. Always checking in and wishing the best. Donna was a caring and creative teacher within our West Parry Sound Board and enhanced a strong educational system. Most important, she loved her children. Our deepest condolences to Donna’s family. We first met Donna on moving to Waubuno Road almost four years ago. We thoroughly enjoyed our chats when Donna was out walking and joined her on her walk a couple of times chatting all the way. A lovely lady with a lovely smile.

I am sad to hear of Donna's passing. I was a French Teacher who taught her little ones introductory French for a number of several years. I was impressed with her typical smile, the care she gave to these young ones, and her organization of her various activities as well as the way her students were taught manners as well as what what was on the official list of topics to be covered. She gave a great start to the youngsters over the years. and will (and is) sorely missed.
