DONALD ARMSTRONG

Donald Mervin Armstrong passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, on Thursday April 11th, 2024, at the age of 75 years.

Beloved husband of Penny for 55 years. Son of the late Percy and Vivian Armstrong. Loving father of Cory (Connie), Tracey (Cameron), Jason (Kim), and Jeremy (Leigh). Adored by his grandchildren Nicholas (Linda), Brittany (Chris), Nathan (Mackenzie), Sarah, Summer (Dominic), Isabel, Percy, Connor and great grandchildren Charley, Myah, Aurora and Greyson (predeceased). Fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Nancy, and by his many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A sincere ‘thank you’ to the doctors and nurses in the ICU, Palliative Care Unit, and Home Care Team for their warm compassion for Don and his family.

As was his wish, cremation will take place and a private gathering in his honour with family and friends will take place at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the West Parry Sound Health Centre, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Gone Fishing

I thought I’d better let you know
The reason I’ve gone missin;
I’m where there’s ten-pound angelfish,
That’s right I’ve just gone fishing;

A man named Peter at some gates
Asked if I had permission.
My angler’s licence got me in.
And now I’m happy fishin.

The waters here are crystal clear;
Better than the Pickerel River,
You get a bite at every cast,
In this lovely Heaven river;

My old Dad’s casting by my side,
And my dear Mom I’m a Kissin;
Don’t worry all I’m happy here,
Yes I’ve simply just gone fishin.

Condolences

Our hearts go out to Penny and family. He will be greatly missed by all.
