DARIUS PAMAJEWON

DARIUS PAMAJEWON
2011 - 2024

Dear Family & Friends,

Darius Isaac Howard Pamajewon passed away suddenly on Monday, June 17, 2024 after suffering a brain injury that inevitably took everything that Darius was as a person.

He was surrounded by his mother, Nongonse (Candace), by his grandmothers Ann and Elaine, his siblings, Nasha and Evander, his Auntie Bella and Uncle D and his many other Aunties and Uncles, cousins and friends. Too many to name -- but chi miigwetch for loving him and sharing some time with him.

Darius was loved by many. He has left behind so many friends and we’re sad for each of you. It's ok to feel sad but please remember Darius and all that he was. How he helped you in some way or another. How his kindness was a big part of who he was. His smile, and his excitement to see you or to share that special handshake!

There will be no formal funeral but rather a celebration of life, to honor him in a good way, which will be held in his home community of Shawanaga on July 9th, 2024 at the family home.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Howard/Darius Pamajewon Children’s Fund – to help families and children in need of financial support and care, cheques to Candace Pamajewon or e-transfer to [email protected] would be appreciated.

Condolences

I'm so very sorry for your loss Candace. I only met Darrius once but my twin boys, Jethro and Royce, talked about him all the time. They always came home telling me how nice he was and how he always smiled at and talked to them at school. Yesterday when we got the news they spent hours telling me all kinds of stories about him at school and he sounds like such a wonderful young man. My heart is aching for you but I am so thankful my boys had a friend like him in their lives ❤️

I'm so sorry to hear about Darius' passing. I and the Daystar group from Michigan loved to have Darius join us at camp whenever we visited Shawanaga. He was always kind, loving, and gentle. Candace and Evander, I am sorry for you loss. During the Daystar camps Darius was kind and sweet to everyone, and especially to Evander. We all loved spending time with him, and appreciated his sensitivity to others. When one of the little children was sad that their parent had left, Darious would come close and just be there, clearly trying to show comfort to the little ones. We will miss him, and we are so very sorry for your loss, and the pain you feel. May your grieving be for a season, and may Creator God give you comfort and peace,
Jesse

Darius was an absolute loving beacon of joy. It was impossible to be in his presence and not feel the love of life and happiness he so often exuded. His unexpected passing has left the world a dimmer place. Please accept our heartfelt condolences for this unimaginable loss. The waves of grief and agony must feel unbearable. We share your sorrow. Darius will continue to live in our hearts and memories; and though his life was unfairly cut short, his legacy of kindness, humour and love of life will forever bring joy to those who knew him. He has a place in our hearts forever. ❤️

My spirit was called back to the star world
I'm sorry i had to leave
I stayed as long as i could
with love in my heart for you
my journey is one I have to take alone
i'll be thinking of you along the way
when I reach my destination, I'm told
someone will be there to help me
our language carries no such word as goodbye
So, "gaawaabmin miinwaas baa maa pii"
and please don't worry about me

Think of me up there in the Star world
Twinkling my love down to you
and remember that "I'm always there"
with love, laughter, song, and prayer
