CYRIL PERKINS

It is with sadness that the family of Cyril Perkins announce his passing on March 14, 2021 at the age of 85, with his family by his side.

Cyril will be remembered by his children Wade (Jill) and Cathy-Anne (Vic), his granddaughters Shannon, Breanne, Kaylee (Ryan) and Valerie (Dave), Cathy-Anne and Wade’s mother Margaret-Ann (Bob Kohli), and his wife Denyse. Cyril also leaves behind his sisters Jean (Michael) and Gloria (Clive), his sister-in-law June and many nieces and nephews. Cyril was predeceased by his parents Ivan and Ione, his infant sister Joan and his brother Edward.

Cyril was born in Barbados in 1935. Cyril moved to Canada in the 60's to start his 30-year career with the Dale Carnegie organization as an instructor, business coach and international trainer in both Hamilton/Burlington and Kitchener/Waterloo. His dedication to sharing the Carnegie philosophy benefited many people and organizations throughout his career. Cyril took great enjoyment in his hobbies of photography, gardening, golf and cooking. He also greatly enjoyed a dram of scotch with friends and family over some good music and conversation.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lakeland Long Term Care, The Garden’s, and Dr. Phebe Gray for their care and dedication over the last several months.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy donations to Lakeland Long Term Care would be appreciated.

Denyse: So sad to read about the passing of a great mentor for me. Cyril was a wonderful man whom I respected much as he assisted me in becoming a leader in Paragon Engineering/Stantec Consulting in KW area. I enjoyed the many early morning breakfasts and coaching that he provided to me for more than a decade. I was just thinking abourt Cyril last week and wondered how he was. It is obvious that you have made a move to the Parry Sound area. I hope you have many wonderful memories upon which you can draw upon during the days ahead. Larry

Sincere condolences from your extended East Coast family. We remember the good times -- learning to cook fish the 'Bajan' way; golf excursions; cottage time at Cap Brule; the fun and laughs we had at our family gatherings. Fond memories! God Bless you all.
