Anje (Vickers) Palamar of Parry Sound, Ontario passed away in the early hours of November 22nd, 2020 at the age of 72, after a valiant and fiercely fought battle with cancer, in her home surrounded by her adoring family. She was a bright and glimmering constellation of love, light and hope who was beloved by many and will be eternally missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Dennis Palamar for 53 years, and her three sons Dean (Kim, Emiley & Nicolas), Tyler (Nancy, Paige & Brooke) and Ryan Palamar, her brother Charles Vickers (Melinda Vickers), and her sisters Charlotte Stewart (Gordon Stewart) and Carla Cusiter. Her sense of humor and genuine concern for the wellbeing of others remained embedded within her spirit even until her final moments.

Anje was born in 1948 in Parry Sound, Ontario, to father Charles Vickers and mother Johanna Ritzma. She grew up in a large and warmhearted family in Parry Sound while spending her summers on her father’s family farm in North Seguin and also at the cottage with her parents, brother and 2 sisters in Orrville, on Sugar Lake.

Anje was a wonderfully determined individual, a hardworking entrepreneur, loving wife and mother, avid traveller, a faithful friend to many, gardener & artist, and a fashionista whose eclectic sense of style was always a force to be reckoned with.

Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 81 James Street, Parry Sound (705-746-5855) on Saturday, May 6th from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.

A Service in Celebration of Anje’s Life will take place in the Logan Memorial Chapel on Saturday, May 6th at 11:00 A.M.

We have only the very best of memories of Anje from so many of our visits to Parry Sound when we were all young together. Those happy days were all filled with fun, food, laughter, and the sparkling presence of that one true blonde - haired girl. The old school house, the winding country road to get there and all of our respective kids, together with Anne's Mum and Dad and the rest of the clan, always made it a guaranteed pleasure. We will always be grateful to Anje and her family for all the good times, and hope that all of us will be sustained by these the best of memories. I am so sorry to learn of Anje's passing. She was always very kind to me. I think this story is very reflective of the person she was. While shopping at her store in a Parry Sound she mentioned that she had a scarf that would go perfectly with the outfit that I was purchasing. The scarf was actually one from her own wardrobe and the next day she delivered it to me. I still remember this from so many years ago.

So saddened by Anje’s passing. She was an amazing and beautiful person in every way. As a teenager I enjoyed every moment working with Anje at both Florence’s Finery and at the mall. She had a personality that could light up any room and I greatly admired her devotion and love for her family and friends.

I am saddened to hear of Angie's passing. I worked at Shoppers Drug Mart when it was on James Street when I met Anje, as her store was next to us. She would come into our store frequently, including the cosmetic department where I worked. It was genuinely a pleasure to see her beautiful smiling face almost on a daily basis.
