Gaawaabmin miinwaa baa maa pii

My Spirit was called back to the Star World
I’m Sorry I had to leave
I stayed with you as long as I could
With Love in my heart for you

My journey is one I have to take alone
I’ll be thinking of you along the way.
When I reach my destination, I’m told
Someone will be there to help me

Our language carries no such word as goodbye
So, “gaawaabmin miinwaa baa maa pii”
Live your life to the fullest
And please, don’t worry about me.

Think of me up there in the Star world
Twinkling my Love down to you
And remember that “I’m always there”
With love, laughter, song and prayer
