ALICE BISSONETTE

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Audrey “Alice” Bissonette on Friday, June 30th, 2023 with her family by her side after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Alice was born in April 1933 in Ashdown Corners to Charles and Elsie Smith. She had four brothers. Alice married Francis in 1951 and they lived in the same house in Rosseau for 35 years. They raised 8 children together and their home was usually filled with friends and their large extended family.

Cherished daughter of the late Charles and Elsie Smith, and daughter-in-law of the late Duncan and Ellen Bissonette. Beloved wife of the late Francis “Web” Bissonette. Loving mother of Elroy (Lorie), Peter (Teresa), Neil (Carol), Kathleen Tait (Steve), Lloyd, Lorraine Tait (John), and the late Dennis and Wanda Bushey (partner Paul). Loving ‘Gram’ of Denise (John), Lenny (Mari), Peter, Sabrina (Gardner), Melanie (Blake), Cherie (Bryce), Michelle (Garrett), Lisa (Mike), Laura (Chris), Ryan (Margaret), Brandon (Tabitha) and Ami (Brian). Adored “GG” of Hazel, Joe, Katie, Andrew, Kalanie, Sophia, Hazyl, Tanyr, Taylor, Brandon, Ciara, Everly, Blair, Mason, Lucy, Alice, Piper, Eric, Henry, Morgyn, the late Tait, and expected to arrive later in July, Charlie. Dear sister of Morley (the late Carolyn), and the late Glen (Eileen), Charlie (Eleanor), and Conrad (wife Florence Smith). Sister-in-law of Yvonne (Glen), and the late Marvin (wife Pat), Duncan, Alphie, Margaret, Ted, Eugene, Veronica, Clarence, June, Wilma, Irving, Teresa, Harry, and June.

Family meant everything to Alice. Alice has a huge extended family of nieces and nephews. She was a very social person and she and Florence took many trips over the years. She was an active member of the Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Alice also enjoyed reading, cards, bingo, and her homemade bread was legendary. During her life she faced many health challenges but no matter what she faced, she did so with grace and humor.

Special thanks go to the homecare nurses, PSW’s and doctors who cared for her during her final illness.

Friends and family will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 81 James Street, Parry Sound (705-746-5855) on Wednesday, July 5th from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.

Vigil Prayers and Funeral Service will take place at the Logan Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 5th at 1:00 P.M.

Reception to follow.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the West Parry Sound Health Centre, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
