WANDA THOMPSON

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Wanda Margaret Thompson (nee Mellon) in her 79th year.

She is survived by her daughters Carolynn Simpson of Orillia and Christine Ormiston (Rob) of Parry Sound.

She will be forever loved and missed by her grandchildren Holly Mei (Andrew); Stephanie Elrick (Chris Ellis); Robert Elrick (Jessica);Roger Simpson; Ashley Chowns (Richard); Adam Rachar; Elizabeth Rachar and Jennifer Rachar. Wanda was the cherished Great Nanny to Jonathan, Stephen, Sarah and Matthew Mei and Aubrey, Scarlett and William Middlebrook. She is survived by her brothers Dana Mellon (Sharon) and James Mellon (Bev) and her sisters Marylee Maxam and Joy Fader. Predeceased by her parents Art and Agnes Mellon and two sisters Loretta Metcalfe and Carolyn Mellon. She was the beloved Aunty Wanda of Carol, Melanie, Mary, Sean, Trina, Mark, Rodney, Dan, Joe, Sally, Erin, Randi, Tammy and Lorrie. She will be fondly remembered by friends Judy Lamothe and Debbie Hore.

Our mother was an accomplished photographer, artist, poet and self-taught pianist. Mom’s greatest joy was being with her family and when the time came for her to spread her wings and fly she was surrounded by love and at peace having spoken to each of them that day. At her request there will be no funeral service. A private burial and memorial will take place at a later date.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Thwin and the palliative care team of Parry Sound as well as the team from Care Partners, especially Pam Anderson of LHIN (Local Health Integration Network) for their care and compassion during this difficult time.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Canadian Cancer Society, or Fibromyalgia (Arthritis Society) would be appreciated.

Condolences

Carolynn and Christine,
I am sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. Though distance and time often keeps familes apart, i have fond memories of childhood and time spent with Aunt Wanda.
One i thought about today , was a memory that she never forgot to send out birthday cards and christmas wishes. Always with a hearfelt sentiment and with writing so neatly written that was almost hard to imagine came from a human hand.
She is free now, and headed off to what comes next, and no doubt will be watching over. Thinking of you all.
Cousin Joe.

Rest In Peace Aunt Wanda.
