MIKE SWICK

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Michael John Swick. Michael, a.k.a Sweets, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 surrounded by his sons and wife in his home after a hard fight with cancer in his 72nd year.

Michael was a fun-loving, hard-working, smart, and talented father, husband, brother, grandfather, and waterfront real estate agent. He left his career in the steel industry for his dream job of waterfront real estate, in his favourite location of the Parry Sound / Georgian Bay area, and enjoyed a very successful career doing so for over 20 years.

He is survived by his loving wife Lynn, sons Jonathon (Lauren), and Michael T, his sisters Judy O’Sullivan (Dennis) and Beverly, stepdaughter Meghan, grandchildren Skyleigh and Desmond, extended family, and his many friends.

Memorial donations in his memory may be made to Lung Cancer Canada, and condolences can be given on the Logans of Parry Sound Funeral Home website.

Our thoughts and prayers are will you all,

I will miss big Mike. More than just a friend, he was family. Cottage memories, drinking contests, fireside chats, tubing with the kids in sub zero weather. If you were part of Mike's life his caring for you was insurmountable. He was so proud of his boys, Jono and Mikey, and loved spending time with family. Honest to a fault, Mike found me the perfect home as my realtor. Mike will continue to be a part of our lives. My sons loved big Mike. Mitch misses you and I know you and Kyle are swigging the whiskey together now. Your previous Lynn loved you beyond reproach. I wont tell you to rest now Mike, so continue to kick up a storm and keep an eye on our Lynn. Until we meet again ✌🤗✌

I worked with Mike at Namasco for over 20 years. Not always a smooth road but regardless of what was going on or at times quite heated, but once resolved, Mike would be the first to say, now lets go have a beer. Condolences to Lynn and all of Mike's family on his passing.

Lynn,

My heart is so broken for you. I didn’t get to meet Mike often but when I did he was the nicest man. It was an honour to share eulogy giving with him when our Kyle died. I’ll always remember his kindness that day. I know how much he loved our boy. I have no doubt Kyle was one of the first faces he saw when he entered Heaven. Kyle will show him the ropes. Mike will be looked after.

Please know I think of you often.

Lots of love

Jackie

My heart goes out to you all during this incredibly difficult time. Though I never had the pleasure of meeting Sweets face-to-face, he always gave off a vibrant and humbling energy in FaceTime calls with Lauren and Jon. His memory will always live on through his two amazing sons. They are intelligent, fun-loving and always a breath of fresh air to be around - much alike their dad! Sending my deepest condolences to Jon, Lauren, Mike and the Swick family.
