It is with great sadness that we share that on Sunday October 10th, 2021, Alexis Larmand-Maracle, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at home in Nobel, Ontario.

She was the beloved wife to husband Pete, loving mother to Emmalee and Nicholas, cherished friend to many and ray of sunshine to all that knew her.

She had a passion for her family, travelling and for Georgian Bay. She found her oasis at the family cottage, where she will forever be celebrated.

Alexis was a nursery school teacher and later became a parent-children specialist. She lived a remarkable life, impacting the lives of countless families and their children. Her joyous smile, kind-heart, generosity, and charismatic love for life will always be treasured.

A visitation will be held in her honour on Thursday, October 14th, 2021, from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. at the Logan Funeral Home, 81 James Street, Parry Sound (705-746-5855).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations please be made to the West Parry Sound Health Centre.

We had the honour of meeting Lexi through Gail. When we would visit and Lexi was over, she was always up for a nice chat and a few good laughs. She made us feel like part of her family.

My heart is breaking for you and your kid's right now Pete! I had no idea Lexie was ill again and was very surprised to see the notice. Her smile will live in my heart forever. She was a beautiful soul and will be so very missed!

I did not know Lexie well but I was often the screener when she came to the West Parry Sound Health Centre. It was always a pleasure to see her and her wonderful smile and sense of humour during what were very difficult times. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Lexie was the most wonderful, extraordinary wife, mother, friend, leader. She was always so kind and sparkly to all my children whom she knew through the Nursery School and through her professional work with children. She faced her diagnosis with incredible grace and tenacity, and those personal qualities carried her through these years. Her smile was luminous as was her soul. May God keep her well within God's sheltering wings, now and forever.

The world seems a little different since the passing of Lexie. She was able to make the very most out of life, especially the past 10 years. What a strong woman, with such strong family support. We will miss her! Love to you Pete, Emmalee, Nick and the Larmand/Maracle families.

I was so saddened to hear of Lexie’s passing. When my daughter was born 16 years ago, it was Lexie who provided the emotional and professional support that helped us cope with the shock of the diagnosis of Down’s Syndrome. I can’t begin to explain the lasting impact she made through her caring support and guidance. I owe her a debt of gratitude and great thanks for being there and helping me find the path forward, celebrating the beauty of life and teaching me how to face the challenges to come. Lexie changed lives in our community - my daughter Lily is proof positive of that. Deepest condolences to her family and friends and thank you for sharing Lexie with us all.
