-Anthony GerouxWhen Lesley and I first moved into the maplewood subdivision Al walked the streets checking out the area. It was winter and cold and empty but for one person … John. We met regularly for walks where we shared teaching stories and philosophies. Eventually a small social group was established where wings and beer was the focus followed by desert rotating between homes. With johns hospitalization interests faded. U are missed John. A true gentle christen soul and remembered fondly teacher and sometimes Santa Claus.
-Lesley’s and Al lastJohn was my first resident when I started to work at Lakeland. He always welcomed me with a smile and in return made me smile. It was such an honor to get to know him. He will truly me missed. My condolences to his family...

-Sharon CalowMr.Peters taught me at Victory School for grades 5 and 6. I became a teacher because of amazing teachers like Mr.Peters. I have so many great memories of being in his class. Our class making bird houses and then taking a bus to his house to go hang them on the trees. Taking our class to a choir competition where we sang Fish and Chips and Vinegar and One bottle of pop Two bottles of pop and actually won and went on to Regionals. I remember he was so happy and proud! He was a kind dedicated teacher and his love for his job showed every day. Thank you Mr.Peters for all the great memories you will be greatly missed!

-Kari KranertI first met John when he was a board member of The Friends when I had the distinct pleasure of working alongside a great team of not only PSW's but the management and the board which John was a member of. John was a staunch supporter of the rights of people with disabilities as well as their needs. I can honestly say that you are absolutely one of the most genuinely wonderful people I have ever met! Take a rest now John you have earned it!
-Dennis BrownleyI have a wonderful memory of John at Victory School which my children attended. At each Christmas pageant John would project the words of the carols onto the outside wall of the school while the parents and kids sang along, often in pretty cold temps. God bless you for those memories John. I so appreciate them now.

John was my Grade 6 teacher at McDougal School in Parry Sound. I remember him as a kind, caring and always smiling man. Our family knew the family from church at St. Andrews. Good times. Rest in Peace Mr. Peters!
-Randy SauderMr. Peter's was an amazing educator and an incredible human being. He along with Mr. Pavlove organized an exchange trip to Bermuda while I was student at McDougall. It truly was an experience of a lifetime. His classroom was always a warm, safe place to be. Later I had the pleasure of teaching alongside him at Victory School. Then it was square dancing...he put in so many extra hours, but that was what made him a teacher to be remembered. Thank you and rest easy Mr. Peters.
