Charlotte Helen McKaig (Todd) passed away peacefully with family by her side at Lakeland Long Term Care, on Sunday, August 18th, 2019. Age 90 years.

Beloved wife of the late Don McKaig. Much loved mother of Gayle Adams (Ken), Brian McKaig (Teri), and the late Holly Palmer (Vic), and Donna Ricker (Tom). Loving Gramma of Matthew (Kim), Ashley (Deryck), Bill, Michelle (Chris), Krista (Gary), Deanna (Justin), Don, and David (Lyndsay). Adored by her many great grandchildren.

Helen was a woman of strength and spunk. She was happily married to her best friend for 50 years in a home they built together full of love and memories, where they raised four children whom they loved very much – she took care of that home with pride until she was 88 years old. Helen faced heartache and loss with a brave heart and determination to live life to the fullest. She could always be found outside caring for her lawn, fixing something or having a cold drink on the dock. She loved nothing more than to fish with her great grandkids or watch them swim and play in the lake. She was always making us laugh with her quick wit or little comments. Helen adored long chats about pretty much anything and a good western film. She filled our lives and hearts with unconditional love and a zest for life; we will forever cherish the adventures we had. She will be so missed and fondly remembered by all of her family and friends.

We want to thank the loving staff at Lakeland’s who helped care for our mom/gramma after her stroke. It was a great comfort knowing she was so cared for.

A Celebration of Helen’s Life and interment of ashes will be announced at a later date.
