HANS FELDMANN

Hans Feldmann passed away, surrounded by family, at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Sunday, October 31, 2021. Age 92 years.

Beloved Husband of Gertrud, who pre-deceased him. Loving father of Peter, Hans Jr., Mark, Anna Maria, and the late Tim. Cherished Opa of Bryn and Caillie. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

After retiring from the farm in the Stratford area, Gertrud and Hans moved to Carling in 1988 where they spent many happy years on the waters of Georgian Bay. Hans was always active in the community, including serving as the Reeve of Wallace Township, representative for Perth County with the Ontario Pork Producers, volunteering as a Water Quality monitor in Carling Township, and enjoying 25 years as a volunteer at the West Parry Sound Health Centre.

As was Hans’s wish, his body has been donated to the School of Anatomy at the University of Toronto.

Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 81 James Street, Parry Sound (705-746-5855) on Saturday, June 11th, 2022, from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M.

A Celebration of Hans’ Life will take place in the Logan Memorial Chapel on Saturday, June 11th, at 2:00 P.M.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the West Parry Sound Health Centre, or the Parry Sound Public Library will be appreciated by the family.

Condolences

I am a cook at the gardens of Parry sound. Hans was a resident and a very lovely man. I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed greatly.

Hans, our dear friend from Deep Bay! Mornings were not complete without a dock visit with Hans in his kayak and me in the water! He would tell me his favourite poets and insist that I read them. His kindnesses were unparalleled. When my dad was in hospice, Hans quietly dropped by and snuck a small branch of pine from the Bay for Dad to smell. A simple gesture which will never be forgotten. Your Dad will always occupy a space in my heart.

My condolences to the family and to Peter, my colleague and friend at Parks Canada. I never met Hans in person, but I've always enjoyed the stories that Peter shared with me about his Dad. I'm pretty sure "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree". Hugs.

My deepest condolences to all the family. Hans and Gert have been our dear friends since 1993 when they volunteered at the hospital. Enjoyed our times out on the bay, at Killbear and just visiting over a cup of tea with special cookies. Will cherish the memories.

A sweet man. Great neighbor who baked wonderful cakes and invited you to enjoy great conversations. There for you when you needed him. Will be missed just like his lovely wife.

Even though my relationship with Hans was short I remember him with great respect. Hans always said Jesus was his best friend. I say goodbye to Hans with a poem by Ralph Waldo Emerson: All Return Again.

To the Feldmann family,

Deepest condolences on the passing of Hans.
He will always be known as the kindest of souls.
Hans, you were my favourite people to serve over the years. May you Rest In Peace and may your spirit fly freely over the clear and pristine waters of Georgian Bay; a place I know you loved dearly.
