DEAN COURTENAY

Dean Allan Courtenay passed away suddenly with his loving wife Sheri by his side, on Thursday, May 12th, 2022. Age 62 years.

Beloved husband and best friend of Sheri Baker. Cherished “Bonus Dad” of Brook and Jamie Baker. Dean will be forever missed by his yellow lab, Bailey. Dear son of Roy Courtenay and his wife Bev, and the late Ivy. Son-in-law of Lynn Grisdale and the late Jim. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Born and raised in Birkenhead, United Kingdom, Dean was a proud Englishman. Dean made many visits to his homeland over the years, and was actively planning his next trip there. Travelling became a huge part of Dean’s life; always with Sheri by his side – and crossing the border definitely meant going to a Nascar race! Dean was an avid football (soccer) fan; if you knew Dean, you knew he was cheering for Everton. He loved being a stone mason, and took pride in his work. He loved fishing trips, camping, and snowmobiling with Sheri and good friends. Dean enjoyed playing guitar with his buddies and singing. He was a lover of life, but above all, Dean loved his family. He was an incredible partner and ‘bonus dad’ – spending time with Sheri, Brook and Jamie was Dean’s greatest joy and what he most looked forward to. For Sheri, Brook and Jamie, a piece of their heart has gone with Dean, but rest assured, Dean is already on his next adventure – surely sipping a beer and enjoying a slice of pizza!

As was Dean’s wish cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Dean’s Life will take place at the MacTier Legion on Saturday, May 21st at 11:00 A.M. Reception to follow.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the MacTier Legion or the West Parry Sound Health Centre would be appreciated.
