PETER ATKINSON

Peter Shatford Atkinson passed away peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, on Wednesday, September 20th, 2017, with his life partner, Cheryle Partridge by his side. Age 68 years.

Peter was predeceased by his parents Frank and Phyllis Beresford Atkinson. Dear brother of Nancy Hoyano (Brian); Leslie Atkinson (Henry); and Jill Atkinson (Vern). Peter was a dear uncle to many nieces and nephews, in Kingston, Toronto, Vancouver, California, and Chisasibi, Québec. Peter was a stepfather of Hali, grandfather of Nastassja and Walter, and great grandfather to Isaiah, Myen, and Ilyah.

Peter was born in Montreal, and spent much of his adult life in Northern Québec, working as an educator, a Human Resources manager, and a consultant. When Peter moved south, he worked as Education Director for Wasauksing First Nation. Peter then moved to Sudbury, where he again worked for the Cree Board of Health, and Social Services of Québec, but on-site in Sudbury. Peter retired in April of 2016, and moved back to Parry Sound.

Resting at the Wasauksing Complex from 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 23rd, until the Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, September 24th, at 10:00 A.M. Reception to follow.
