Claire Marie Shalla (Lajoie) passed away peacefully at Belvedere Heights on Wednesday, April 11th, 2018. Age 85 years.

After a long and blessed life, our beautiful mother, grandmother and great grandmother peacefully joined her loving husband, Joe, of 58 years. She will be sadly missed by her children, Mona (Trent), Jo-anne (Mark), Lorraine (Domenic) and Lynn (Craig); her grandchildren, Scott (Caitlin), Courtney (Dave), Joel, Matthew and Laura and her great grandchildren, Rowan and Hudson. Dear sister of Rhea Lavigne, and the late Leo and Lorraine. Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Mom will be remembered as a loving gentle soul. Her compassion and her faith in God guided her through life. Her first love was nursing as she graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1954 in Timmins. Claire soon realized that her devotion in life was taking care of her family and for that, we will all be forever eternally grateful. Claire was a life-long CWL member and a dedicated parishioner of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home on Thursday, April 19th between the hours of 6:30 – 8:30 P.M. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church on Friday, April 20th, at 11:00 A.M.

Interment Sylvan Acres Cemetery.
