Carleen Evelyn (Wheatley) Partridge passed away at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, on Wednesday, January 31st, 2018, in her 90th year.

Carleen was born in Leamington, Ontario to Margaret (Dodge) Wheatley from Walpole Island First Nation, and James Edward Wheatley from Wasauksing First Nation. She was the loving wife of Ernest “Ernie” Arnold Partridge (predeceased), and sister of Langford Wheatley, Doreen Wheatley (predeceased), Lloyd Douglas Wheatley (Doreen) (predeceased), Pat Eagle Denning (Ed) (predeceased), and Daniel Sylvester Wheatley.

Carleen was the matriarch of five generations. Loving mother of Cheryle Partridge (Peter predeceased); Dale Copegog (Hector); and Darryl Partridge (Heather).

Loving grandmother of Hali Tabobondung (Jeffrey); Pilar Copegog Welling (Jason); Wasejiwon Copegog (Ashley); Wade Partridge (Tamara); and Darryl Walker (Samantha); Cameron Partridge, and Cheyanne Partridge.

Great grandmother of Nastassja (Jason), Walter (Hannah), Evan (Emily), Spencer; Liam, Owen, Rivar, August, Brody, Harley Rose, Dante, Fredrick, and Ryker.

Great great grandmother of Isaiah, Myen, and Ilyah.

She will be lovingly missed by her many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and community members.

Carleen was an active community member, committee member, volunteer, Nanoogdwenj Jik Elder, and role model for her family members and our First Nation. Carleen won the Anishnabek Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.

Resting at the Logan Funeral Home (705-746-5855), 81 James Street, Parry Sound, where family will receive visitors on Friday, February 2nd from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M.

Funeral Service will take place at the Wasauksing Complex on
Saturday, February 3rd, at 11:00 A.M. Friends will be received prior to the Service from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.

Reception to follow.

Cremation. Interment Wasauksing Cemetery at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Wasauksing United Church would be appreciated.
